Netherlands MotoGP Results 2021 – Rossi Crash, Unlucky Ducati, Quartararo Win Again! page all

KOMPAS.com – Monster Energy Yamaha racer, Fabio Quartararo, has successfully won the 2021 Dutch MotoGP race.

The Dutch MotoGP 2021 is the 9th series of this season’s World Championship which will be held at the Assen Circuit, Sunday (27/6/2021) night WIB.

Fabio Quartararo took the top podium accompanied by his teammate, Maverick Vinales, and the 2020 MotoGP world champion, Joan Mir (Suzuki Ecstar).

This is Quartararo’s fourth win of nine MotoGP 2021 World Championship series so far.

On the other hand, two Ducati riders had bad luck, namely Jack Miller and Francesco Bagnaia.

Francesco Bagnaia who had led the race had to receive a long lap penalty on lap 14.

The penalty made Bagnaia have to settle for 10 points after finishing sixth.

On the other hand, Jack Miller also had bad luck on lap 14 after crashing at Turn 5.

Jack Miller was initially able to return to the track. However, after a few laps, Jack Miller decided to return to the pit stop and not continue the race.

The Petronas Yamaha SRT rider, Valentino Rossi, also failed to finish the race after falling at Turn 7.

This is Valentino Rossi’s third failure to finish the race this season. Previously, Valentino Rossi also failed to complete the Catalunya MotoGP and Portugal MotoGP races.

The course of the 2021 Dutch MotoGP race:

Maverick Vinales is the only driver to use soft front tires in this race. The other riders evenly chose the medium front tire.

Regarding the rear tires, the choices of the riders vary from hard and medium.

Vinales, who started the race from the forefront, immediately dropped to fourth on the first lap.

Vinales has already lost his leading position in Tikunga 1 after being overtaken by Fabio Quartararo.

In the middle of the first lap, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) successfully took over the lead of the race after overtaking Fabio Quartararo.

Francesco Bagnaia managed to continue to lead until the second lap followed by Fabio Quartararo and Taakaki Nakagami (LCR Honda).

As for Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) who started the race from 20th place, he managed to poke into 11th place on the first lap.

A different fate was experienced by the Petronas Yamaha SRT rider, Valentino Rossi, who fell from 12th to 19th.

On the fifth lap, Francesco Baganaia still managed to lead the race even though he was overtaken by Quartararo at the last corner.

Quartararo’s attempt to overtake Bagnaia finally succeeded on lap 6 at Turn 11.

The distance between Quartararo and Bagnaia at the beginning of the seventh lap was only 0.464 seconds. Quartararo then walked away when he managed to become the fastest driver on the seventh lap with a time of 1 minute 32.894 seconds.

On the 8th lap, Valentino Rossi crashed and fell at Turn 7. The incident made Valentino Rossi unable to continue the race.

Entering the 10th lap, the top three positions are still occupied by Quartararo, Bagnaia, and Nakagami.

However, this time Quartararo managed to get away and was 2.372 seconds ahead of Bagnaia. On the other hand Nakagami managed to cut the distance with Bagnaia to only 0.264 seconds.

Nakagami then managed to overtake Bagnaia on the 11th lap. However, Bagnaia again managed to take over second place from Nakagami moments later.

On the 12th lap, Quartararo got further away and managed to lead by 2.806 seconds over Bagnaia.

Towards the end of the 13th lap, Nakagami and Bagnaia were overtaking each other again. Bad luck approached Bagnaia on lap 14. Bagnaia must receive a long lap penalty after being deemed to have crossed the line.

The penalty left Bagnaia slipping to 8th on the 16th lap. The unfortunate fate that approached Bagnaia then took advantage of Vinales to occupy second place.

Vinales successfully finished second after Nakagami collided with Joan Mir at Turn 5.

Bagnaia’s teammate Jack Miller also had bad luck on lap 14. Jack Miller was immediately stranded in 18th after falling at Turn 5.

Until the 23rd lap, Fabio Quartararo was still the leader of the race followed by Maverick Vinales and Joan Mir.

The leading three positions did not change until the end of the race.

MotoGP will now enter a five-week summer break before returning to the MotoGP Styria at the Red Bull Ring, Spielberg, Austria, on August 8, 2021.
