NBA: French Gobert best defensive player for the third time

The Frenchman Rudy Gobert has been voted the best defensive player in the NBA.

According to the league, the professional basketball player from the Utah Jazz prevailed by a large margin over Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers) and Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors). For Gobert it is the third time that he has been voted first out of 100 journalists from Germany and abroad. He was rewarded for his defensive skills in the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons.

With the Jazz Gobert played the best main round of all teams and leads 1-0 in the playoffs in the semifinals of the Western Conference against the Los Angeles Clippers. The 28-year-old got a total of 464 points. Simmons came on 287 points, Green on 76.
