Acting Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi, gave a statement to the media crew after releasing the Indonesian U-19 national team to Spain at the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, December 26, 2020.

BOLASPORT.COM – PSSI admits that they are considering hosting the 2021 AFC Cup, after seeing the conditions and situation of the pandemic in Indonesia increasing.

As is known, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) previously offered PSSI to host the 2021 AFC Cup preliminary round.

This was done by the AFC after Singapore, host of Groups H and I, withdrew due to the country’s lockdown.

Apart from Groups H and I, the AFC has not yet determined the match venue for Group G.

With that, the two representatives of Indonesia in the AFC Cup were in limbo because until now the venue was not clear.

However, after PSSI considered many things, PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi admitted that the biggest possibility was that Indonesia would not be the host.

“There are only considerations about the current state of the pandemic in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, then the I Wayan Dipta field is currently undergoing a renovation and lockdown process, so some of the workers in the I Wayan Dipta field have been exposed, I can get the information,” said Yunus Nusi as quoted by BolaSport.com from Kompas TV, Saturday (26/6/2021).
