Xàtiva Badminton also reaped good results in the third and last day of the Autonomous Club League 2021, held in Aspe last Sunday. The team from Seville won two of the three matches, beating CB El Campello 2-3 (they won the mixed and men’s doubles and the women’s singles); and defeating CB San Fernando B 3-2 (men’s doubles and men’s and women’s singles). They fell to the league leaders CB San Fernando, 5-0, in a match in which the Valencians imposed their experience on the young team of CB Xàtiva. After this day, Badminton Xàtiva finishes the Autonomous League 2021 in fifth position, with the same points as fourth.
On the other hand, on the third day of the Jocs Esportius in the children’s category, the 12 athletes of CB Xàtiva achieved 40% of victories in singles and doubles, highlighting the full triumphs of Jesús Cimas, while Andrea Orquin and Sergi Benet achieved three wins out of four possible. The third day, played in Enguera, decided the qualifiers for the Provincial and Autonomous Championship at the end of June and, in the absence of the official publication, the Xàtiva club ensures the classification of several athletes for the two championships.
Upcoming competitions
The Xàtiva Badminton Club will play the Parabádminton Spanish Championship that will be held from June 4 to 6 in Cartagena (Murcia). The club will be represented by Selenia Pla Mompó, who will make her debut in an event of this type, and will be accompanied by the coach and also player Mª José Mompó, who will guide her experience in the competition. The Setabense entity will also attend the U-15 and U-17 Youth Master that will be held next weekend in Cerdanyola del Vallés (Barcelona), where Ximo Torres, Sarai Ramón, Jesús Cimas and Andrea Orquín will participate in the U-15 . All four make their debut in this type of competition and will seek to gain experience in these tournaments. They will be accompanied by the club’s coach Javier Alcázar. CB Xàtiva will also participate next weekend in the third and last day of the Jocs Esportius for the alevín category, which will take place in Enguera. The players will go with the club’s coach Vicent Molina.
