LaMelo Ball voted Rookie of the Year

The last award of the past regular season has also been given. Like Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reports, LaMelo Ball receives the Rookie of the Year award from the Charlotte Hornets.

Ball, who put on 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.6 steals and hit 35.2 percent from a distance in his debut season in the NBA, was a finalist along with Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton , the youngsters of the Timberwolves (much to the displeasure of Karl-Anthony Towns) and Kings got the short straw. Edwards himself was also not very enthusiastic, even the Wolves posted on their team account a tweet of amazement.

Edwards was allowed to calculate at least outsider chances for the award, since, unlike Ball, he was available for the entire season (72 games, 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists). Ball, on the other hand, only played 51 games in the regular season due to a broken wrist, none of the trio moved into the playoffs with his team (the play-in tournament was over for the Hornets).

No.1 pick Edwards increased over the course of the season, after the all-star break he averaged 23.8 points and improved his throwing squads drastically. Haliburton (13 points, 5.3 assists, 40.9 3FG), who fell in the draft to twelfth position, became one of the great hopes for the future in Sacramento alongside De’Aron Fox.
