Eliminated from the playoffs earlier than they expected, some top franchises are now preparing to enter the free agent market. One of them would be coveted by the Knicks, Lakers, Nets and Sixers… Just that!
In addition to the Knicks, already very happy to find the playoffs after eight years of absence, all hoped at least to reach the Finals, but aimed above all for the title. The three teams that are Lakers, Nets and 76ers have, however, and to everyone’s surprise, not passed the stage of the second round. The results are even worse for LA, eliminated a series earlier.
Despite these diverse trajectories, but ultimately all disappointing for their fans, these four franchises will obviously seek to do better next year. The number of options available to JJ Redick will not be huge, but a few teams should show interest in his profile. Among them are the Lakers, Knicks, 76ers and Nets, a source tells NBA Analysis. Title contender teams need elite shooting, and Redick can do just that for them.
Transferred to Dallas on the sidelines of the trade deadline, Redick was only allowed 13 small appearances in the colors of the Mavericks. Blame it on a long-standing injury to the heel, which even deprived him of any playing time in the playoffs. At the end of the contract, the 37-year-old sniper therefore has some pretty suitors, and could therefore not linger in Texas.
However, his previous wishes to leave, expressed in New Orleans, showed a clear interest in joining… New York. Her family indeed resides in the Big Apple, and the rear would like to find her after staying away during the coronavirus pandemic. Nets and Knicks could therefore start with a lead in this race.
Always so desired by his talents as a gunner, JJ Redick will therefore have the opportunity to join the top-team of his choice this summer. The list of its possible destinations is in any case enough to make your mouth water.
