Lakers Guard Alex Caruso arrested for possession of marijuana

Lakers Guard Alex Caruso was arrested Tuesday in Texas for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. As the Texas A&M police announced, the NBA player was released a short time later.

Both approaches are only punished as administrative offenses. Recreational cannabis use is legalized for those 21 and older in 16 of the 50 American states, but not in Texas. Like Lieutenant Bobby Richardson ESPNs Ramona Shelbourne said the offense was found when Caruso was about to board a flight at Easterwood Airport in College Station.

Less than two ounces of marijuana were found and Caruso was allowed to leave on bail. The 27-year-old spent his college years at Texas A&M, from 2012 to 2016 he played for the Aggies and holds the best marks in assists and steals.

After he was not considered in the draft, he earned a place in the D-League with the Oklahoma City Blue and South Bay Lakers. He ended up with the Lakers NBA team in the fall of 2017, but his two-year contract, worth $ 5.5 million, is now running out, and Caruso becomes an unrestricted free agent. In the past season he came as an important bench player to 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists (58 games).
