La Nucía brings together the promises of national badminton in the ‘Spanish Junior International’

On Friday, June 11, the start of the Spanish Junior International, a Badminton competition held at the Camilo Cano Pavilion in La Nucía. This international event, in which they participate 168 athletes from 12 countries, will bring together the promises of badminton sub 19. The tournament will be played without an audience, but it can be followed through the YouTube channel of the Spanish Badminton Federation.

For this event, 6 badminton courts have been set up on the central court of the Camilo Cano Municipal Pavilion in La Nucía. It is the first international Badminton competition to host La Nucía, City of Sports.

It is Spanish Open International will develop from June 11-13 and is organized by the Badminton Federation of the Valencian Communityto Spanish Badminton Federation Y Bádminton Europe, La Nucía Badminton Club and the La Nucía City Council. In addition, the competition has the collaboration of Higher Sports Council, the Valencian government, the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and the Alicante Provincial Council.

The presentation of this competition was attended by Ferrán Feliu, president of the Badminton Federation of the Valencian Community, Marcel Schormans, director of refereeing for the Badminton Europe tournament, Dani Larsen, president of the La Nucía Badminton Club and Sergio Villalba, Councilor for Sports of La Nucía.

International Competition

In the Iberdrola Spanish Junior International Spanish teams will participate Sub19 and the Sub17, as well as the best U19s from countries such as Portugal, Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Peru, Switzerland, Slovakia and the United Kingdom.

In total 168 players will participate who will compete for three days in five categories: Singles Female, Double Female, Singles Male, Men’s Doubles Y Mixed Doubles. Likewise, the event has all the measures and protocols to guarantee a “safe sports environment”Sanitary characteristics of a competition of these characteristics.

National Badminton Promises

In the Spanish teams, the presence of players such as the U19 internationals stands out Lucia Rodriguez Y Ania Setién, who come from getting silver in the mixed doubles modality of the Absolute Spanish Championship. Other diamonds of the national badminton also participate that promise to give many joys in the future, such as Ruben Garcia Y Jacobo Fernandez.

Other athletes who will be at the event are the Valencian Ana Caballero, María O Pérez, from the Granada club; Carlos Iglesias and Marcos Rodríguez, from Portmany de Baleares, and Adrián Álvarez and Laura Álvarez, from Oviedo, and finally Javier Álava, from Athlos de Ourense.
