Judo World Championship (-52 kg F): Ai Shishime succeeds Uta Abe

The Japanese Ai Shishime was in the final of the 38th Judo World Championship against the Spanish Ana Pérez Box in Budapest (Hungary). At the end of the fight, the Japanese came out victorious, thus winning the gold.

Bronze medalist in Tokyo in 2019 for the 37th edition of the World Judo Championship, Ai Shishime showed courage and determination to come back stronger. For this edition, she climbed to the top step of the podium. In the final, she managed to beat her Spanish opponent and won the gold medal in the Under 52 kg (half-light) category. Beaten, Ana Perez Box occupies by right the 2nd place by winning the silver medal.

Fabienne Kocher from the Swiss and the Israeli Gefen Primo came out tanned in the same category.
