Budapest (AP) – Olympic hope Theresa Stoll won the first medal for the German team at the Judo World Championships in Budapest.

In the duel for the bronze medal, the 25-year-old from TSV Großhadern prevailed against the Canadian Christa Deguchi in the category up to 57 kilograms.

Nora Gjakova from Kosovo won the second small final and thus also bronze. In the fight for gold and silver, the Japanese Momo Tamaoki and the Canadian Jessica Klimkait face each other.

After the World Championships, the German Judo Association will propose the final nominations for the Summer Games in Tokyo to the German Olympic Sports Confederation by June 15.
