James Harden, injured and frustrated | NBA

While Kyrie Irving was forced to stay on the bench because of his big sprained ankle, James Harden was on the field to try to help Kevin Durant against the Bucks.

The MVP 2018 did not even leave the floor, playing the 53 minutes of Game 7, while he was clearly reduced. Without explosiveness, he was successful in causing free throws and if he finished very close to the triple-double (22 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists), he only shot 5/17, including a very naughty 2/12 from afar.

After the match, he explained that he felt “Like shit”

“There are so many emotions. It’s so frustrating for me, when I’ve been so consistent and been able to be myself in the last few playoff campaigns, to have to deal with this hamstring injury. It’s just frustrating ”, he could only repeat at a press conference.

The former Thunder and Rockets explained that he had not really been able to test himself before Game 5!

“Basically, it’s a Grade 2 hamstring strain so from the first possession of Game 1 to Game 5, it’s the first time I was able to do a little competitive basketball against someone. ‘a. I really had to start by taking risks. “

This type of injury usually takes 4 to 8 weeks to heal, and James Harden replayed after 10 days, illustrating how he had rushed his return to play in this conference semi-final.

“I just told them how proud I am of them”, explained Steve Nash. “They put in an incredible effort. They gave us everything they had. There has been so much adversity this year. The first year together, so many changes in the team, the injuries, I told the guys they couldn’t have given us more. Face this team without [Kyrie Irving] and James [Harden] on one leg… I’m really, really proud of the group, and most of all I hurt for them ”.
