It’s stable, give greetings to the Danish National Team

Christian Eriksen is in stable condition after collapsing in the Denmark vs Finland match at Euro 2020. This was announced by the Danish Football Federation (DBU).

Currently, the 29-year-old player is being treated at Rigshospitalet, one of the best health facilities in Denmark which is located not far from Parken Stadium, where the match was held.

“This morning we spoke with Christian Eriksen, who sent greetings to his team-mates,” read a DBU statement, Sunday (13/6/2021) afternoon WIB.

“His condition is stable, and he is still being treated for further checks. Team members and national team staff have received crisis assistance and will continue to look after each other after what happened yesterday.”

The incident that happened to Eriksen had a deep psychological impact on his teammates. According to Sky Sports, the Danish national team has decided to cancel the press conference which was originally scheduled to be held today.

Not only that, Martin Braithwaite et al were given time off so they could rest and calm down. Denmark will play again against Belgium in the second match of Group B on Thursday (17/6) at 23.00 WIB.

Eriksen collapsed at the end of the first round of the Denmark vs Finland match, Saturday (12/6) yesterday. He is suspected of having cardiac arrest, after it was discovered that he received cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the field.

The Danish players then surrounded Eriksen and the medical team who worked to avoid being distracted by the cameras, as well as to calm the fans in the stadium. After first aid was given in the field, he was taken to the hospital.

Finland won the match 1-0 with a header from Joel Pohjanpalo in the 59th minute.
