Ion Izagirre is proclaimed champion of Spain against the clock

Mavi García was the great favorite to hang the gold and revalidate the national title of 2020 and did not fail in a route of 24.6 kilometers starting and finishing in Busot, on a route for pure specialists.

The veteran Balearic cyclist, At 37, he achieved his third national championship in individual time trial after 2018 and last year, when he also surpassed, as on this occasion, the young Sara Martín.

With a time of 35:28, Mavi García surpassed Sara Martín in 30 seconds, who repeats gold in the U-23 category and silver in the global calculation, while third and bronze was Lourdes Oyarbide, from the Movistar Team, with a time of 36:47, plus a minute from Garcia.

Coinciding both categories, Elite and Sub-23, The global ‘Top 10’ of the CRI of this Spanish Championship included five elite cyclists and as many Sub-23 cyclists, with the also Sub-23 Isabel Martín (Río Miera-Cantabria) in fourth position and the Elite Mireia Benito (MASSI Tactic) in the fifth.
