Former FC Bayern professional and Spanish driver Thiago explains the pros and cons of the many influences on the game: through clever coaches, the mixing of cultures and hard-working talents.

In July 2013, the then FC Bayern coach Pep Guardiola spoke three words that Donnerhall developed and quickly became a household word: “Thiago – or nothing!” Means: He wants to sign this player – or none. Eight years later, Thiago Alcântara, now 30 years old, is sitting in the press center of the Spanish Association in Las Rozas, at the gates of Madrid. Also present: reporters from five international media, including SZ from Germany. To maintain the distance, the floor is laid out in two colors, Thiago sits slightly raised behind a desk. “For me, Pep’s words were a huge motivation back then,” he says, “I was very young when I came to FC Bayern. That this coach, who had given me so many chances before at FC Barcelona and the best for me the world said to me: ‘Thiago, I want you on my team!’, that was just phenomenal. “
