In Châteaudun, the students of Nermont created material for an archery club in the region

Bet lost, but bet held. Within the agricultural college of Nermont, Eliot was entitled to an initiation to archery, but also to a bodybuilding session under the gaze of his little comrades, hilarious. The teenager had the imprudence to challenge Christian Barillot, president of the Archers artenaysiens club (Loiret), not really one-armed when it comes to finding the heart of the target. “If I don’t put the arrow in the yellow coat of arms, I do 10 push-ups. But if I manage to hit this area, you make 20, ”says Christian Barillot to Eliot. Fifteen seconds later, the college student was good at working his biceps.

Former students of Nermont, who became archers

“We set up this initiation to make them discover the discipline, allow them to have an approach, but we did it above all to thank them for the work they have done,” says Christian Barillot.

At a rate of 2 hours per week between October and May, a group of about twenty students of 3 and 2 from Nermont worked, as part of a technology course, on the realization of five easels – supports for the stramits, the panels where the coat of arms rests -, under the leadership of Jérémie Roger, carpentry teacher. “We entered into a partnership with the Artenaysian Archers club because Cédric and Karen Pecheux, both members of this association (Editor’s note: they participated in the initiation), are also former students of Nermont. Karen even worked at the CDI for a few years, ”recalls Jérémie Roger.

Even in times of Covid, the show continues in the music and dance schools of Eure-et-Loir

One thing is certain: his group of students appreciated the process. “It was really nice to have done this collectively. And then to help an association, that changes, it’s a good thing ”, explains Manon, 14 years old. Same story with Ernest, 15: “It’s cool to have made these easels. We are proud to help the club grow. “

Because the fruit of their labor should remove many headaches from the leaders of the Loirétain club. Christian Barillot underlines:

“These easels will give us independence for the competitions we organize. We are a young club which is only three years old. This type of material is a budget. Until now, when we organized a competition, we had to ask neighboring clubs to lend us easels. Now, we will be more independent. “

Christian Barillot (President of the Artenaysian Archers)

The president of the Archers artenaysiens wishes to salute the rigor which accompanied the students of Nermont in this activity. “The easels were made from very precise plans, from very precise dimensions, because the coats of arms must be at a certain height for the competition. Now all the Archers have to do is aim just to lift trophies.
