From the Tango Mundial to the Uniforia: the ten European Championship balls through the years | European Red Devils

EC footballNo big tournament without a special ball. This also applies to the upcoming European Championship, which will be played with an Adidas Uniforia. High time for an overview of the European Championship balls over the years.

EK 2021: Uniforia

The most modern of all. For EURO 2020, the German sports giant Adidas made the Uniforia. For the first time in its 60-year history, the European Football Championship will be played in 12 different European countries. The artistic design of EC Ball Uniforia is therefore based on the blurring of boundaries, with black lines that merge into one another, reminiscent of paint stripes. You will also find those stripes on the new shirts of the Red Devils – there is a broader concept behind it.

EK 2016: Beautiful Game

At the European Championships in France they chose the ‘Beau Jeu’ (beautiful game). At least for the group stage. A different version was used during the knockout phase: the Fracas. De Beau Jeu was criticized during the tournament after a ball broke down during Switzerland-France.

The Tango 12 was used to play football at the 2012 European Championship in Ukraine and Poland. It’s a modern take on the classic 80s design. After the famous Jabulani mop ball of the 2010 World Cup, this ball had a more stable curve.
