Football – Euro-2020: A bomb neutralized near the Olympic stadium in Rome before the Italy-Switzerland match this Wednesday evening

An explosive device was defused this Wednesday evening in a car parked near the stadium in Rome, according to several Italian media. The holding of the Euro-2020 Italy-Switzerland match was not called into question (the kickoff was given at 9 p.m.).

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Piazza Mancini district around 6 p.m. this Wednesday evening. The police secured the area and defused the explosive device that was in the car. Several streets were blocked in order to allow the intervention of the police. According to the Italian press, a local politician was targeted.

The car would indeed belong to Marco Doria, a local politician, in charge in particular of the development of the green spaces of the Italian capital, according to The morning. This bomb threat could therefore not be linked to Euro-2020.
