A few hours from the kickoff for the first 90 minutes of the final, between Sports Tolima and Millonarios, the posh club published a press release in which it “categorically rejects” the statements of Gustavo Serpa, the highest shareholder of the ambassador team, in which he referred to an alleged “mafia” in the FPC. They want proof or you want him to recant.
“The media strategy of Dr. Serpa only intends to pressure the arbitration commission to seek a lesser sanction for the Millionaires players who were part of the embarrassing events of the match. Millionaires – Junior”.
And he continues: “the latest statements condition the referee Carlos Betancur, to the extent that any decision taken that is contrary to the interests of Millonarios, is treated as corrupt. We reject those old practices where the name of Dimayor and their clubs ”.
Finally, Deportes Tolima asks the manager that “if you have names and concrete evidence of the events you mention, contribute them to the corresponding institutions and not to generate controversy in Colombian footballotherwise, we ask you to retract ”.
It should be remembered that in dialogue with Caracol Radio, Gustavo Serpa said that “it seems that there is a black hand behind, which is determined to prevent Millonarios from being champion (…) There are forces behind that are preventing us from making important changes to modernize Colombian football . Soccer in Colombia is still managed by a dark mafia ”.
Deportes Tolima and Millonarios will meet after 8:00 pm, at the first duel of the Betplay League final 2021-I, at the Manuel Murillo Toro stadium. Next Sunday (3:00 pm) will be the return in El Campín.
