Federico Delbonis got off the Tokyo Olympics

Buenos Aires tennis player Federico Delbonis, in good condition, announced this Friday that he will not participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games that begin on July 23 this year, through a publication on his Twitter account.

“Hereby I want to tell you that unfortunately I will not participate in the Tokyo Olympics. It has been a very thoughtful and difficult decision to make. It has always been, is and will always be a great pride to represent the country, but it also implies a great demand,” he wrote Delbonis, 30 years old.

“Considering this stage of my career, the preparation that an event of such magnitude requires, and the tight schedule, we have decided to prioritize the tour. I wish the guys who are appointed the best and of course I will be encouraging them,” concludes the message from Delbonis, Davis Cup champion with Argentina in 2016.

Azulean Delbonis, number 51 in the world ranking, said goodbye to Roland Garros five days ago, in the round of 16 (his best performance at the French Open), after losing to Spanish Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 4-6, 4- 6, 6-4 and 4-6.
