FC Bayern Basketball has extended the contract with Andrea Trinchieri for another two years.
The head coach, who joined Bayern a year ago, will stay in Munich until the summer of 2023.
With Trinchieri, Bayern were the first German team to reach the EuroLeague playoffs and win the BBL Cup. Bayern ALBA Berlin had to admit defeat in the final of the easycredit BBL.
Hainer happy about extension
“The team did a great job last season and this performance clearly bears the signature of Andrea Trinchieri. That is why I am very happy and happy that we have been able to retain our successful coach for two more years,” said Herbert Hainer, club president Association announcement cited.
Hainer continues: “We are convinced that, together with him, we will succeed in reaching our medium-term goal by advancing to the top of Europe and also being able to fight successfully for the national title again.”

Trinchieri himself, who is currently at the meeting of the EuroLeague coaches in Barcelona, said: “I’m just happy to return soon! The next season will be an enormous challenge for all of us, but hopefully we will have the fans back in the hall, that should give us a big boost, it is clear that I would like to have every player from last season back, but we all know that it will be very difficult to do.
Trinchieri took Bavaria to “unattainable heights”
Sports director Daniele Baiesi added: “When we introduced Andrea a year ago, I named him one of the best three coaches in Europe. Some people were surprised, but I think the past season confirmed my assessment. Andrea has our team in Elevated heights that seemed unattainable a year ago. “
