Eden Hazard is ready for basic place: “Confidence grows by hitting the ball” | Red Devils

Eden Hazard still wants to play a role in the European Championship. The captain is feeling better and better and is keen to present himself against the Finns tomorrow night.

Eden Hazard’s last base place dates from November 19, 2019. In the European Championship preliminary round match against Cyprus, he helped lay the foundation for a 6-1 victory. Tomorrow night he will be 1 of 11 in Saint Petersburg.

The injury troubles finally seem to be a thing of the past. “I had very few weeks last season where I didn’t have any pain, but things are going well here at the Red Devils. I was able to do everything I wanted. I am happy,” says Hazard.

“My playing minutes are increasing. I need that for my confidence. I want to hit the ball and no longer think about injuries.”

Hazard came in just before the hour against Denmark. He helped bring about the turnaround.

“What I thought in the 1st half when I was on the bench? That you can’t be top every game. As a team you can’t win 5-0 every time. After the break we reacted well. We won and that positive we must remember.”

“We are also going all out for a win against Finland. You always play to win, not to lose. We are not going to calculate to get a better course in the next phase of the tournament, so to speak. We just have to give the maximum every time to to bend all the matches to our will.”
