MTB Child Trainer is aimed at association members and other people who are or would like to get involved in holding children’s training.
This course is a club course at Askov Mudeaters and is divided into 2 evenings on 15 June and 22 June from 17.00-21.00
June 15 is theory in the clubhouse in Askov (with a bit of cycling in ordinary clothes in the parking lot)
On 22 June, practice on the track in Hundsbæk is dressed in MTB clothes.
Contents:
Competencies – participants receive instruction in:
- Hold MTB activities for children aged 3-12 years / pre-puberty
- Teach children basic cycling skills, according to the OnTrail standard on green and blue tracks
- Provide safety for a group of children, including conducting a risk assessment, as well as calling for help and organizing an accident site with children involved
- Create community and joy of movement, as well as inspire the children to return
- Dealing with conflicts and negative behaviors
- Use nature and the local environment in the activities
- Have an understanding of the basic principles of physical exercise for children
- Carry out an M-check at child height, and set the bike for the individual child and guide parents in bike selection and equipment
- Have an understanding of what motivates children and promotes their well-being
- Dealing with parents and assessing how they might can / should help
This course gives access to the Danish MTB Instructor Guide 1 (D-MTBing 1)
