Development of a new site for the rental of boats at Boisé des Moissons park

Happy to see a long-awaited project come to fruition, the mayor of Saint-Eustache, Pierre Charron, the municipal councilor of the Moissons district, Isabelle Lefebvre, and the councilor responsible for outdoor issues, Isabelle Mattioli, went to see first-hand the start of development work on the non-motorized watercraft rental site at Parc Boisé des Moissons, located at 53, 25e Avenue, in Saint-Eustache.

In fact, phase 1 of an imposing construction site is currently underway so that, towards the end of the summer, a large wharf with two bridges will be installed to offer rental of watercraft. Two uncluttered design containers will also be installed to welcome visitors and store canoes and kayaks.

«This new watercraft rental service responds to a need strongly expressed by citizens. We are fortunate, in Saint-Eustache, that the territory follows the current of the Mille Îles river from west to east, and it is a priority for us to give access to the banks to all citizens. We are convinced that many will benefit from it ”, Mayor Pierre Charron said during his visit to the site.

«The park is accessible by the Chemin de la Grande-Côte bike path, a track that joins the city’s cycling network in several places. This is an excellent reason to come and enjoy the new attractions of the park, while promoting active transportation.», Adds the municipal councilor responsible for the outdoors, Isabelle Mattioli.

In addition, some 20 parking spaces will be added as well as a charging station for electric vehicles, and new lighted paths will link this new parking area and the citizen reception kiosk. ” All these new developments bring great improvements to the park, while retaining those already there and are greatly appreciated by the citizens of the neighborhood, such as the baseball field and the community chalet. This park has so much to offer, I invite all citizens to come and visit it», Concludes the councilor of the Moissons district, Isabelle Lefebvre.

This phase 1 of the work, which includes the purchase of the docks, requires an investment of $ 423,795, plus taxes, and is carried out by Cusson-Morin Construction Inc., under the supervision of the Engineering Department of the City of Saint-Eustache. .
