Decided future? Ralf Fährmann causes a stir

So far it is not officially clear whether Ralf Fährmann will take the bitter step into the 2nd Bundesliga with FC Schalke 04. A telling Instagram post from the goalkeeper suggests a clear trend.

In a disastrously bad team at FC Schalke 04, Ralf Fährmann was one of the better players in the 2020/2021 relegation season. The 32-year-old keeper, who in the meantime lost his regular place to competitor Frederik Rönnow, was canceled several times due to injuries and still played 25 competitive games, is also one of the few players who is also relieved of his affection for the Revierklub.

Although Fährmann is still contractually bound to Schalke for a comparatively long time, namely until June 30, 2023, his whereabouts beyond the summer are in the stars.

The native of Chemnitz is said to earn a full 2.5 million euros per year thanks to his contract, which was negotiated in financially rosier times – a lot of money for the tight squires and especially not in the second division.

FC Schalke 04: A very telling Instagram post from Ralf Fährmann

Against this background, rumors of emigration have also been around the ferryman for weeks, although concrete information on the plans of the club and players as well as possible interested parties has so far been an absolute scarcity.

Ferryman himself could now – consciously or unconsciously – have revealed his future planning – in the social network Instagram. There the keeper shared a video on Tuesday with some successful parades from the past season. “You can’t change the past, but the future …”, Fährmann added – a supposedly clear indication of staying with Schalke.

It would be conceivable, for example, that the goalkeeper waives part of his fixed annual salary, but has a proper promotion bonus guaranteed by the club.

At least the Schalke fans would be happy if the identification figure remained. Ferryman received a lot of approval and encouraging messages under his telling post.
