Five representatives of Italy will play the finals at the Under 22 European Boxing Championships taking place in Roseto degli Abruzzi. The continental youth event, after today’s confrontations, will move to PalaMaggetti for the last acts of the day after tomorrow, in which we will also find a rather well-known face.
In fact, there will be among the four female finalists Angela Carini, who will defend the tricolor in Tokyo in the 69 kg: for her a clear 5-0 success over the Bulgarian Yonuzova. The semifinals also pass Sirine Charaabi (57 kg) against Ukrainian Kovalchuk (5-0), Giulia Lamagna (4-1 over the German Budimir in 54 kg) e Giovanna Marchese, who in the 48 kg manages to get the better, in the uncertainty, on the French Bennama for 3-2.
Defeats, however, for Martina La Piana in the 51 kg, where the French Moulai prevails 5-0, and also for Daniela Golino, which yields 1-4 in front of the Ukrainian Abramova. For the two of them the bronze medal arrives.
Among men, however, it is Francesco Iozia to render inoffensive the Russian Shumkov, passed with a clear 5-0. Third place, however, for Gianluigi Malanga, marginally ousted by the Ukrainian Molodan (2-3), and for Matteo Ara, defeated more clearly 0-5 by the Irish Clancy.
