Canelo Álvarez will play the BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf

Mexico City — In boxing he is an undisputed champion, but golf is the sport that keeps him awake.

Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez has gained recognition in the ring thanks to his talent with his fists, however, today his great passion has moved to the sport of poles, of which he himself has recognized his enormous hobby.

“It’s super addictive, when I stop playing, I dream that I’m playing. In fact when I go to play the next day, I hardly fall asleep from the excitement, ”said Álvarez.

The boxer from Guadalajara will start Thursday in the BMW Charity Pro-Am, a Korn Ferry Tour tournament that will take place at the Country club in Greenville County.

“I know that golf is very difficult but I try to be better every day, I always try to aspire to be better. I try to practice every day, but sometimes as I train or go on a trip I can’t do it, but at every opportunity I start training golf ”, Álvarez explained in the video shared by the circuit on social networks.

As the name implies, ProAm tournaments allow professional golfers to play accompanied by amateur players, such as “Canelo”, who will make his debut in a tournament of this nature.

Just in July, Álvarez had participated in a celebrity event alongside sports stars like Patrick Mahomes, Stephen Curry, Tony Romo, among others.

“I played the celebrity tournament but I had barely been playing golf for 10 months, right now it is different and I am happy to have this experience,” he said.
