Avisaíl García renders after the adjustments

Before the start of the season, few predicted that the Milwaukee Brewers would be at the top of the NL Central these days. That is happening.

In large part it is due to the performance of Venezuelan Avisaíl García, who has become the figure of Wisconsin’s ninth in Christian Yelich’s repeated injury absences.

García had a first month of the campaign well below what was expected of him. One reason may have been the pressure they had from having to compete every day to be one of the starting outfielders with the arrival of Jackie Bradley Jr.

He turned the page, made the adjustments, and in May it was just the opposite. He finished the second month of the harvest, doubling his number of home runs (7) RBIs (20) compared to April. He had 25 hits for a .291 average and a .914 OPS.

Today, he continues with the same rhythm, which has helped the hops continue to battle at all costs in the center with the Chicago Cubs.

In 10 games played in June, the Brewers are 8-2 and Avisaíl has three homers and eight RBIs; being decisive in Sunday’s game that served to sweep the Pittsburgh Pirates. There the wall was blown in the sixth inning with one in circulation to come back and win.

“I have worked very hard to improve. It’s a long season, so it has to be consistent. I just have to keep working and be positive and try to help my team win, ”the patrolman told mlb.com.

And boy, the work is paying off. His individual level has Milwaukee up in his zone, but he also has him as the best slugger in his ninth.

Garcia leads the departments of hits (49), home runs (13), RBIs (38), runs (30), bases reached (90) and is also second in stolen bases with four.

When it comes to defense, Avisaíl has been solid, making no mistakes in 445.2 innings (56 games) played on the right field, thus proving his worth in every way for Milwaukee.
