ATP> Vesnina: “Djokovic will never receive the same love and support from fans as Federer and Nadal”

Returning to competition in Madrid last May after two years of absence to give birth to her daughter, Elena Vesnina was interviewed by the Russian site Championat.com on the GOAT debate between Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Big fan of Switzerland, the 34-year-old Russian therefore places Roger above the fray and considers that the Serbian will never be loved as much by the fans as his two rivals.

“It seems to me that Novak has every chance to catch up and overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Will Djokovic have more Grand Slam titles than Serena Williams (23 titles)? Maybe I can believe it. I have great respect for Djokovic and Nadal, but for me Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time. I love Roger as a tennis player, of course. If Novak wins the Olympics, then, of course, he’ll get even closer to Federer, as Roger doesn’t have a singles gold medal. But, I think when it comes to the fans, he will never receive the same love and support as Federer and Nadal. “
