Archery / World Cup. Lisa Barbelin eliminated in the round of 16

The first phase of the Archery World Cup, in Guatemala last month, saw Lisa Barbelin advance to the round of 16 in the individual and quarterfinals in both mixed and team events. The second phase has started in Lausanne. The Moselle trained at STS Dieuze stopped in the round of 16 in individual, against the Russian Svetlana Gomboeva (3-7). In a mixed team, she and Thomas Chirault eliminated the Moldovan duo (5-1) before losing in the quarterfinals to the Netherlands (1-3).

This Friday morning, Lorraine will be keen to win as a team. In the round of 16, she will shoot with Angeline Cohendet and Mélanie Gaubil against Bangladesh. The competition allows the 21-year-old archer to repeat his ranges before the next two Olympic qualifying tournaments, in Antalaya on June 4 and in Paris from June 19 to 21, to hope to win his ticket for the Tokyo Olympics.
