Archery, Italy eliminated in the quarterfinals in the Pre-Olympic. Fade the Tokyo pass of the men’s trio – OA Sport

Great disappointment for Italy in that of Paris on the first day of Pre-Olympic on a world scale of archery, with the elimination in the quarter-finals that definitively establishes the failure of the Azzurri to qualify for the men’s team test in Tokyo.

The tricolor tricolor formed by Mauro Nespoli, Alessandro Paoli and Federico Musolesi, after reaching the quarter-finals thanks to his third place in qualifying and a clear 6-0 victory over Croatia in the round of 16, he broke up on the most beautiful stage providing an extremely negative performance and giving way to Indonesia in three volleys.

Uphill departure for Italy in the first round, with two “8” by Musolesi that penalize the Azzurri and allow the Indonesians to win the first two points of the match thanks to a partial from 58-55. Under pressure, our standard-bearers fail to react and sink with a second nightmare volley in which they collect just 49 points (five “8” and one “9”), finding themselves under 0-4 despite the simultaneous decline in the performance of their opponents (52 points).

Back against the wall, Paoli opens the third volley with yet another “8” and effectively compromises the desperate Italian comeback attempt. The Azzurri close the partial with 54 points and hope for a gift from Indonesia, which, however, manages to complete the work by impacting at 54 points and retaining an unbridgeable advantage of 4 points.

Riau Salsabilla, Arif Pangestu and Alviyanto Bagas Prastyadi thus fly to the semifinals, only one match from the Olympic qualification for Tokyo. Indonesia expects the winner of the quarter-final between Ukraine and Malaysia in the next round, while the other semi-final will see France and the United States face off.
