Archery: Everything you need to know about Élodie Kaczmareck’s departure from INSEP

Her decision

“Every year, there is an admissions committee at INSEP where the Federation decides who to keep and who should leave. Every year, I always think, I ask myself do I want to stay in pole or is- what do I want to leave? “, explains the archer who finally opted for the start this year as she insisted on announcing it herself on her networks.

The reasons

“There are a multitude of reasons why I wanted to leave. I don’t want to make them all public, there are some pretty personal things. But I feel that my decision to leave is justified. My well-being comes first. Lately, when I go to training, I go backwards. I have lost the pleasure of archery every day, “explains Élodie Kaczmareck.

A pivotal step

With this departure from INSEP, it is clearly a turning point for the Icaunaise. “I joined INSEP in September 2017, but before that I had spent three years at the France pole in Dijon. I have been in sports studies for seven years. I am aware that leaving is an important decision, but I think that’s what I need today, ”she says.

His Olympic dream

Even if the archer will no longer be in the high-level sector of the Federation, his ambitions do not change for the future. Starting with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. “My stopping at INSEP does not mean stopping archery and my desire to play high-level sport. I discussed it with François (Degrange, coach of the Brienon club, editor’s note). I asked him to take me in hand because I want to select myself in the French teams and do the 2024 Games. François has known me since I was ten years old so he can help me enormously “, warns the Brienonnaise .

His return to Brienon

To relaunch after two seasons disrupted by the Covid, Élodie Kaczmareck will return to her Sentinelle de Brienon club where she has her habits. A framework conducive to fostering renewed motivation.

I think I will enjoy archery again.

“I lost the pleasure of shooting archery at INSEP because there are days without and others with it. Sometimes you want to train and sometimes not, but we have to do it twice. times a day. I was fed up. There are days when I was shooting poorly, but I had to shoot until the end and it tends to be discouraging. Returning to Brienon, with the field at five minutes from home, I will be able to manage my desires more day after day. We are going to set up a program that will help me progress, but which will not make me lose my motivation. I think that I will take pleasure in archery, ”explains the archer who will also find his family. “I have been separated from my family since I was 14. The only times I saw my parents and my little sister was on weekends, every other week or once a month depending on the competition. the competitions, I didn’t even have too many vacations except Christmas. It will do me good to see them every day. “
