During three days of competition in Paris, the Mar del Plata will seek to get one of the three men’s places to be in the Tokyo Olympics.

The 22-year-old from Mar del Plata Damien Jajarabilla is in Paris, France, to participate from this Saturday in the Qualifying Tournament Archery world, competence that grants the last places for classification to Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
At stake in this event to be held in the French capital three individual male seats and only two individual female quotas. However, the number of available spots is likely to change after team results, as if a country achieves team and individual qualification, the latter spot is released and will go to an athlete from another nation.
As for the men’s individual spots, which is what the 22-year-old from Mar del Plata will fight for at the Sébastien Charléty Stadium, there will be 64 countries in competition. The group of athletes that makes up Damián Jajarabilla will be very even and competitive from start to finish, but there is one goalkeeper who stands out as he is among the top ten in the world: he is Nicholas D’Amour, born in the Virgin Islands of United States and is a clear candidate.
Regarding the competition program published by the International Archery Federation (World Archery) The activities will begin this Thursday with the arrival of the participating delegations -among them Jajarabilla-, and the following day the official practice will take place. Saturday will be the team qualifier (elimination and final) in the men’s branch, Sunday will be the turn for the women’s teams (elimination and final), while on Monday the event will culminate with the elimination and final in individual recurve bow both men and women.
Damien Jajarabilla will compete with representatives from the following countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Ivory Coast, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Guatemala, Guyana, Hong Kong, China, Hungary, Ireland , Iceland, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malawi, Moldova, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, Tajikistan, Ukraine, US Virgin Islands, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and Yemen.
The Mar del Plata was present at the Pan American Games in Lima 2019 and at the individual category was left out in the round of 16 against American Jack Williams 7-3, while in a mixed team of recurve bow formed a pair with Florencia Leithold and lost to Mexico 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
