An unprecedented mixed tournament in Sweden

A big step forward for gender diversity and women’s golf is taking shape this week in Sweden. Represented by Swedish champions Henrik Stenson, winner of the 2016 British Open, and Annika Sorenstram, 90 pro victories including 10 Majors, the Scandinavian Mixed, which started on Thursday, is a first in golf history.

Totally equal, the tournament offers only one trophy, regardless of the gender of the winner. The 78 women and 78 men play for the same prize money (1 million euros), enjoy the same facilities and share the same groups. The event also offers World Ranking Points, Race to Costa del Sol and Solheim Cup points for women, and Race to Dubai and Ryder Cup points for men.
