Seconda partita, in trasferta a Genova, del campionato Open dove, ringraziando Autostrade per l’Italia, arriviamo a pochissimi minuti dal fischio di inizio. Partiamo con Yamaan impossibilitato a giocare e cerchiamo di mettere subito intensità alla gara ma il metro arbitrale ci penalizza un po’ anche se il primo quarto lo chiudiamo avanti 11-18. Il match prosegue in equilibrio e si va all’intervallo lungo con Futura “B” che ci recupera due punti anche se restiamo in vantaggio 27-32. Nei restanti due quarti continuiamo a condurre fino al 60-69 finale e, per non farci mancare nulla, con un bello spavento dovuto all’infortunio alla testa di Lollo che fortunatamente si è risolto in modo positivo dopo gli accertamenti del caso in pronto soccorso… e i compagni a cenare dopo mezzanotte festeggiando la ritrovata zona bianca.

Inizio da dimenticare, troppa arrendevolezza, poca voglia di difendere e lottare per conquistare palloni facili.
Nel terzo quarto finalmente la squadra si sveglia e riesce a vincere anche il parziale. Quest’euforia, purtroppo, svanisce negli ultimi minuti della gara regalando alle padrone di casa facili appoggi al tabellone e la vittoria finale.

Avevamo di fronte la prima classificata del Girone B e, come tante squadre quest’anno, non li avevamo mai affrontati nelle annate precedenti. Iniziamo deconcentrati già dal riscaldamento e contro una squadra molto più strutturata di noi a livello fisico non puoi permettertelo: il primo quarto si chiude 20-6. Loro più grossi e più intensi, partita finita? Niente affatto! Dimostriamo carattere nel secondo quarto, riapriamo il match recuperando 9 punti e andiamo all’intervallo lungo sul 37-32. Il terzo quarto è ancora a nostro favore e a 10 minuti dal termine siamo sotto di sole 4 lunghezze, 54-50. L’ultimo quarto inizia benissimo e riusciamo anche a pareggiare sul 56-56 ma vuoi lo sforzo per recuperare, vuoi l’assenza giustificata di qualche ragazzo, vuoi l’uscita per 5 falli di Andrea e Daniel fanno si che il punteggio si dilata a favore di Sestri Genova che vince meritatamente ma sudando più di quanto non dica il risultato finale.

Giochiamo ben due partite consecutive dove con Vado A vinciamo 38-30 e anche con Vado B riusciamo a spuntarla con il punteggio di 46-31. “Più del risultato siamo contenti che tutti hanno giocato, di sono divertiti e hanno ripreso a riassaporare un po’ di normalità che speriamo duri a lungo”.

Alassio. Here is the usual weekly report, drawn up by Alassio basketball, with all the matches, category by category, played by the yellow and blue teams.
SENIOR OPEN CSI: “Complicated” victory away to Genoa against Futura “B” …
Second match, away to Genoa, of the Open championship where, thanking Autostrade per l’Italia, we arrive just a few minutes from the starting whistle. We start with Yamaan unable to play and we try to put intensity on the game immediately but the referee meter penalizes us a bit even if we close the first quarter ahead 11-18. The match continues in equilibrium and we go to the long interval with Futura “B” who recovers two points even if we remain ahead 27-32. In the remaining two quarters we continue to lead up to the final 60-69 and, in order not to miss anything, with a nice fright due to Lollo’s head injury which fortunately was resolved in a positive way after the investigations of the case in the emergency room … and his companions to have dinner after midnight celebrating the rediscovered white zone.
UNDER 18: After the first classified in group B, My Basket Genova
Game well channeled on the right tracks by the yellow and blue in the first two quarters and controlled by the long interval onwards against My Basket Genova who had won their group: “A good game from a mental point of view, where every boy who took the field gave a important contribution to the team. Still too many shooting errors and, today, a few too many turnovers. Also tonight we saw a good and careful defense which is confirmed as one of the best of these under 18 groups ”comments Laura Ciravegna.

First match of the watch group for the girls of New Basket ABC Ponente who face the Basket Academy Spezia.
Start to forget, too much complacency, little desire to defend and fight to win easy balls.
In the third quarter the team finally wakes up and manages to win the partial as well. This euphoria, unfortunately, vanishes in the last minutes of the match giving the hosts easy support for the scoreboard and the final victory.

UNDER 13: We give away the first quarter … we recover with character but the last 5 minutes are fatal
We were facing the first classified in Group B and, like so many teams this year, we had never faced them in previous years. We start out of focus already from the warm-up and against a team that is much more structured than us on a physical level you cannot afford it: the first quarter ends 20-6. Them bigger and more intense, game over? Not at all! We show character in the second quarter, reopen the match by recovering 9 points and go to the long interval at 37-32. The third quarter is still in our favor and 10 minutes from the end we are only 4 points down, 54-50. The last quarter starts very well and we even manage to equalize at 56-56 but you want the effort to recover, you want the justified absence of some guys, you want the exit for 5 fouls of Andrea and Daniel make the score expand to favor of Sestri Genova who deservedly wins but sweating more than the final result says.

CSI UNDER 12: Two good matches with Vado
Sunday morning where the 2009s finally start playing again, supported by some 2010 and 2011.
We play two consecutive games where with Vado A we win 38-30 and also with Vado B we manage to win with the score of 46-31. “More than the result we are happy that everyone has played, they are amused and have resumed to savor a bit of normality that we hope will last for a long time”.

On Saturday morning we went to Finale Ligure to play many mini outdoor games non-stop and with a lot of fun. Fourteen yellow and blue took part in the morning dedicated to this beautiful category: all good!
