Al Bano invites Salvini to the judo world championships, with Putin and Orbán

Matteo Salvini was invited by Al Bano to attend the show of the Italian singer on the occasion of the judo world championships, in Budapest. The Northern League secretary – speaking to Mattino 5 – confirmed the invitation by saying: “Al Bano called me while I was in Portugal. I hope to go, if it coincides with the parliamentary work. Sport is health, Orban is a friend, if I go it will be to remember that sport must be union ”.

The tournament – set for Sunday – will be opened by the Al Bano show, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. It is possible – but still not confirmed – that on this occasion Salvini may meet Orbán, with whom he has started a dialogue for the formation of a new group in Strasbourg, and Putin himself.

Al Bano will sing the anthem of the international judo federation (IJF), a sport he is very passionate about. For Salvini – Corriere della Sera writes – it could be the occasion for a long-awaited face to face with Putin:

When Salvini went to Moscow in 2017, in fact, he met the foreign minister Lavrov but not the president. Salvini’s staff are not unbalanced and the meeting is simply defined as “possible”. In reality, the sherpa could just be Al Bano. Who knows Salvini well also because, when the Northern League leader was a minister, he went to the Viminale to represent him some issues related to wine, of which he is a producer […]. Reached by telephone, Al Bano confirms that he was “instructed by the president of the Federation, the Austrian Marius Vizer, to invite Salvini to the appointment”.
