Air open, the tennis podcast of L’Équipe: the great stories of the lawn

Roger Federer, Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic … We could draw up a huge list of those who, one day, marked the history of Wimbledon. And therefore tennis, since the London tournament is perhaps the most prestigious of all, at least the one which offers a unique atmosphere in the world. How was the legend built? What are the special features of the herb fortnight?

Before “Wim” was the high mass of the green field, it was also a question of underlining that three Grand Slam tournaments were contested on grass until 1974, Roland-Garros then being the only exception. Much has changed since then and generations of talent continue to struggle. How has lawn play evolved? Who are the legends of yesterday and who can mark the grass tennis of tomorrow?
