In a historical event, 5 royal divers won their pass for the Olympic Games.
Juan Manuel Celaya, Diego Balleza, Andrés Villarreal, Osmar Olvera and Carolina Mendoza were confirmed by the Mexican Swimming Federation as part of the delegation that will compete in Tokyo.
His pass was sealed after the results obtained last weekend in the technical control that was carried out.
The only previous precedent was in Atenas 2004, when the diver Laura Sánchez represented Nuevo León in the fair maximum.
Sánchez was born in Guadalajara, but represented Nuevo León.
Of the current contingent of diving that will go to Tokyo, Celaya, Balleza and Villarreal are royal, while Olvera and Mendoza were not born in Nuevo León, but represent Inde.
The Aztec contingent will be completed by Rommel Pacheco, Arantxa Chávez, Aranza Vázquez, Dolores Hernández, Alejandra Orozco, Gabriela Agúndez, Kevin Berlin and Iván “Pollo” García.
So far, Nuevo León has classified Rut Castillo, from rhythmic gymnastics, Haramara Gaitán, from Badminton, as well as Victoria Velasco, from Cycling.
Also to be confirmed are Diego del Real, hammer throwing, Eugenio Garza, in Equestrian, and Carlos Rodríguez, in soccer.
