What to do this weekend in Pas-de-Calais: our ideas for outings

Météo France is finally announcing the sun for this week-end. The opportunity to take advantage of it by strolling through the Pas-de-Calais. Our recap ‘of good outings, to do Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May 2021.

Head for the Coast!

This weekend finally everything is there to enjoy it: end of the 10 km limitation, opening of all shops and cultural places and the sun is finally back. First of all, to enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking landscapes, you can go to Cap Blanc-nez and Cap Gris-nez. The return of the sun will allow you to enjoy the landscapes of the Opal Coast under a pretty blue sky and take a big breath of fresh air by the sea.

Getaway to Calais

If you are more artistic, you are also spoiled for choice. Since everyone in the art world has reopened, take advantage of a detour to Calais (Pas-de-Calais) to see an exhibition on underwater wonders, exhibition visible until June 19. While you are in Calais, also take a ride in the Dragon de Calais. It is also deconfined and for € 6.50 you can embark on an adventure in this animal 12 meters high and 25 long. However, the gauge has been set at 25 people, so be sure to book in advance.

Photo festival

If the landscapes of the Opal Coast have not satisfied you, you can still enjoy them again by going to the photography festival in Audinghen (Pas-de-Calais). For this first edition of the festival, find landscapes from major French sites. The 21 exhibitions are installed until September 26 at sites outside the city.

“Upernoir”, with the Louvre-Lens

The “Upernoir” event is also starting this weekend. For a month, the Pas-de-Calais tourist office and the Louvre-Lens offer a busy program to go out and enjoy the local terroir. Centered around the color black in memory of the mining past of the region, you can find on Sunday May 30 at 10 am, a hike in Condé-sur-l’Escaut. Once at the top of the slag heap, you can rest while taking advantage of a dark nap to listen, with closed eyes, the voice, the history, the noises and the silences that the place still contains.

Walk and meditation

Still on the theme of nature and rest, enjoy a Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m. on a guided walk in Marles-les-mines to discover the region and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Strong sensations

For some thrills, go to the Olhain park in Fresnicourt le Dolmen (Pas-de-Calais) to find 4-season sledges, the mini-golf course, archery, mountain biking tours. accessible or the suspended net course. A breath of fresh air in Val Joly

Finally, to enjoy a day in the great outdoors, you can also go to the ValJoly park in Eppe-Sauvage (North) which offers a wide choice of activities. The park has been deconfined to offer water activities such as pedal boating, electric surfing, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking or electric boating, all also for children.

To stay on dry land, you can also go to the aquarium, mini-golf, the mountain bike or scooter course or even the archery range or the bouncy castle. The park also offers indoor rooms with a lasertag, a laser rifle and a trampoline.
