Werder coach Piontek is enthusiastic about footballers from Nordenham

On March 17, 1971, SV Nordenham was founded in the office of Midgard boss Bruno Krenzien. On March 20, 1971, the VfL Nordenham, 1. Nordenhamer swimming club and SC Nordenham in 1910 joined this new club and disbanded at the same time.


The new association immediately had 3,300 members and was the largest in the Oldenburg administrative district. The judo and boxing club also joined the SVN.

HSV handball players in Friedrich-August-Hütte as guests

On August 1, 1971, the SVN handball players had their big day. They hosted the Hamburger SV Bundesliga team in the Friedrich-August-Hütte sports hall.

City selection against Bundesliga club from Bremen

In June 1973 the new grass pitch passed its practical test. The SVN soccer team competed against the Bundesliga team of SV Werder Bremen, strengthened by players from TuS Einswarden, ESV Nordenham and TSV Abbehausen, so that practically a city selection kicked the pros. Over 2000 spectators were thrilled.
