Nowadays, anyone who likes to be a bench coach and manage everything possible in a certain club knows what is the way forward: invest in Football Manager. However, very soon, a proposal will arrive that may have something to say in this niche market.
We Are Football, developed by Winning Streak Games e THQ Nordic, and under the supervision of football directors with long experience, such as Gerald Koehler, Rolf Langenberg e Dirk Winter, promises to be a new approach in this style of play, but always with the same objective: to place ourselves as responsible for our dream team.
In We Are Football, we will be able to train and manage a team; define the best tactics to defeat opponents; choosing the best young players to join the team; negotiate the best advertising contracts; build a stadium with a capacity for fans; and even sell t-shirts to fans.
Obviously, we will have access to all the details of the club and the characteristics of the players, being also possible to develop our skills of coaches in the style of an RPG.
Interestingly, and this is something that Football Manager does not offer, it will even be possible to coach women’s teams. The functionalities for men’s football and women’s football will be the same, but there will be several unique elements inherent to the choice we make.
We Are Football will also have a powerful editor, so that, whenever possible, we can customize the game to our liking. We can, for example, edit all the national teams in the world, creating and editing players, and even create open league systems with promotion and relegation rules. And this is something that can be easily explained, since the game does not have any official football licenses.
However, and as everything seems so editable, it will be perfectly possible for us to replicate the teams as we know them.
It remains to be seen whether, in fact, we will have a credible new competitor for Football Manager here. If confirmed, prepare to waste hours and hours with this We Are Football, which arrives on the PC (via Steam) a June 10.
