VIDEO⟩ “Lightning” and “Avalanche” win the second round of Stanley Cup – Hockey 2021

“Lightning” beat Carolina’s “Hurricanes” 2: 1 (0: 0, 1: 0, 1: 1) away and took the lead 1-0 in the series to four victories.

Canadian Breidens Points and Barkley Gudrov scored the winners, while Russian goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky blocked 37 out of 38 shots (97.4%).

Hurricanes’ only goal was scored by Canadian Jake Bane, while American goalkeeper Alex Nedeljkovich handled 28 of 30 shots (93.3%).

Both teams took advantage of the numerical majority from time to time. Lightning sold one in three and Hurricanes one in five.

The winners of the duel will advance to the semifinals of the Stanley Cup, where they will face the Boston Bruins or the New York Islanders (series 1-0).

In another game, Avalanche defeated Vegas’ Golden Knights 7: 1 (2: 0, 4: 1, 1: 0) on their field and took the lead 1-0 in the series.

Canadian defender Keils Makars stood up with a goal and three assists (1 + 3), Gabriel Landeskog from Sweden and Neitan Makinnon from Canada scored 2 + 1, and Miko Rantanen from Finland + 1 + 1.

Swede William Carlson scored the only goal for the “City of Sins” team.

Avalanche German goalkeeper Philip Grubauer defeated 24 of 25 shots (96.0%), while Sweden’s Robin Lenner handled 30 of 37 shots (81.1%) in the Golden Knights.

The duel winners will have to meet the winners of the Winnipeg Jets or the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs in the semifinals of the Stanley Cup (Series 3-3).

Last year, Lightning became the NHL champion, beating the Dallas Stars in the final.
