Ulm beats Oldenburg and is in the semi-finals of the play-offs

In a series at eye level between ratiopharm Ulm and EWE Baskets Oldenburg, the Donaustädter have prevailed after four games.

In the fourth quarter-final match, Ulms coach Jaka Lakovic’s team won against EWE Baskets Oldenburg 96:88 (33:42) on Wednesday and decided the best-of-five series 3-1 for themselves.

In the semifinals on Sunday, the Ulm team will be playing the first of five possible encounters with defending champion Alba Berlin.

The Oldenburg team got off to a better start and led with eleven points at the beginning of the third quarter (48: 37/24th minute). But Ulm also came back thanks to three successful distance throws by veteran Per Günther and took the lead for the first time in the middle of the last round (80: 79/36.). In a thrilling final phase, the Ulm team also had better nerves. The best shooter for the hosts was Troy Caupain with 20 points. Rickey Paulding scored best among the guests with 25 points.
