Good news arrives this morning from Trek Segafredo’s home. In fact, in a note, the team confirms We can confirm that the three riders involved in yesterday’s crash – Nibali, Ciccone and Ghebreigzabhier – will be at the start of today’s stage.

The three had been involved in the fall that occurred in the descent of Passo San Valentino while they were returning to the pink jersey group after Ciccone had been the victim of a puncture at the GPM.

Update 11.20. Twist of the last hour, Giulio Ciccone has decided to stop and will not repair for the 18th stage. Treek Segafredo writes:
Unfortunately the rider will not be at the start of the stage. Despite a troubled night, with a few lines of fever, Ciccone signed on the starting podium. But after a further evaluation by the team doctor just before the start, considering the general state of severe weakness, the team decided to stop him to safeguard his health and safety in the race ».
