Torreyes showed his face in the defeat of the Phillies

Austin Meadows drove in his third run on an infield single during a two-touchdown cluster in the eighth inning, and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 on Saturday night.

Cuban Randy Arozarena singled early in the eighth inning and advanced to third on a wild pitch by Sam Coonrod (0-2).

Venezuelan Ronald Torreyes tied the game in the fifth inning with his second double of the season, to drive in two.

After Yandy Díaz was intentionally walked with one out, Meadows put it 4-3 on the scoreboard with his hit off Jose Alvarado of Venezuela.

Tampa Bay, which has won 14 of its last 15 games, took a two-run lead when Alvarado walked pinch-hitter Mike Brosseau with the bases loaded.

Diego Castillo came out of a predicament with two on board and two outs in the eighth for Tampa, which has won three in a row, after Kansas City snapped an 11-game winning streak Tuesday.

For the Phillies, Venezuelans Odubel Herrera 3-0 with a run scored, Ronald Torreyes 4-1 with two RBIs.
