The game of Luka Doncic is almost without weakness. The Slovenian Dallas Mavericks prodigy is such a complete forward. Letting him dictate the tempo of a meeting is like shooting yourself in the foot for your opponents. But the Los Angeles Clippers, beaten in the first two games against the Texas franchise, have just won the next two.
With a little more discreet Doncic. And this is where a black spot finally reveals itself for the superstar. A flaw that seemed difficult to guess or anticipate. His skill at free throws. Author of a 0 out of 5 last night, he has had a terrible 40% success on the restorative line since the start of the playoffs… he is even more skilful at three points (41%)!
That is problematic. Especially for a player likely to cause many fouls and often find himself sent to the throws. The blockage seems purely psychological. Luka Doncic displays however 73% of success in career but it is found on these playoffs in this area. It could cost the Mavericks dearly if eliminated, although he is also obviously the player who makes them win.
