Completely. I was already happy to pack my bags to go to competition, because there hasn’t been a lot lately. It’s really in difficult times, especially in this period, that we realize the pleasure we have in competing. Me, that’s what drives me. Rediscover the taste for competition, the adrenaline, the wait, the small adjustments, the return to the pool by seeing the competitors. I was the happiest! I like the high level for the competition, that’s what makes me vibrate.

What is your assessment of these championships, when you were not with your usual partner? (Margaux Bailleul instead of Elodie Ravera-Scaramozzino)

The Federation had decided to try a new composition, in order to see if we could go faster than by associating me with Elodie, as has been the case for almost 7 years now. We arrived at the competition without a benchmark, we had no idea what it was going to be like. We were a bit blind, and the results are disappointing. With 100 days from the Games, we expected to be closer to our opponents, to be in the battle, and that was not the case. It undermines morale a bit. But a boat is built. It was difficult to work miracles with a very short preparation. I saw it as a challenge, to be able as a top athlete to adapt to someone else …
