The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa has won her first title on the WTA tour after a day of marathon.
The 23-year-old benefited in Belgrade with a score of 6: 2, 2: 0 from the injury-related abandonment of her Croatian opponent Ana Konjuh.
Badosa, previously number 44 in the world rankings, had won the semi-finals against Viktorija Tomowa from Bulgaria 6: 1, 6: 2 a few hours earlier. Both semifinals of the clay court tournament had been postponed from Friday to Saturday due to rain. Konjuh had eliminated Maria Camila Osorio from Colombia 7: 6 (8: 6), 7: 6 (7: 4) in her first semi-final in four years.
