Tennis.-Munar runs out of end in Parma after falling to Cecchinato

MADRID, 28 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Spanish tennis player Jaume Munar stayed at the gates of the final in the Parma tournament, of the ATP 250 category that is played on clay, after losing against the Italian Marco Cecchinato in three sets (7-6 (2), 1 -6 and 6-1) in a match that lasted two hours and 42 minutes.

Munar, who was looking for the second final of his career on the ATP circuit after the one he recently played in Marbella, was left with honey on his lips after his excellent reaction in the second set.

The 24-year-old Mallorcan player, number 80 in the ATP ranking, fell in the tiebreaker of the first and rose fiercely in the middle heat. However, in the third and last, the local player returned the 6-1 to take the victory and the pass to the final.

Cecchinato will fight this Saturday for the title on the clay of Parma against the winner of the duel that measures the Americans Tommy Paul and Sebastian Korda. The Italian player will seek the fourth title of his career before ‘his’ public.
