Tennis – Details of the Roland-Garros 2021 prize money (bonuses)

For the second year in a row, Roland-Garros 2021 will distribute a declining financial allocation to players.

A Grand Slam which will once again be financially impacted by the health measures taken to fight the COVID-19 epidemic.

In detail, the total Roland-Garros 2021 prize money amounts to 34,367,216 euros (34,367M €), a sum almost equivalent to the 2020 edition contested in September-October.

For the distribution of the prize money, the organizers have decided to continue to express solidarity with the most precarious players on the circuit by making those who go the furthest in the tournament suffer the drop. The prizes offered for qualifying and for the losers of the first two rounds will be the same as last year. From the 3rd round, players will see a decrease in the prize money compared to the previous edition.

For this Roland-Garros 2021, the winner will pocket a check for 1.4 million euros against 1.6 million € in 2020, a decrease of 200,000 €. A loss in the first round of the main draw will bring in 60,000 euros.

The doubles tournament (men and women) will be the one most impacted by the drop in prize money with sums falling from 23% to 27%.
