Silver and bronze for Mexico in the Archery World Cup

MEXICO._ Mexico won silver and bronze medals in the women’s and mixed team recurve modalities, respectively, at the conclusion of the second stage of the World Cup that was held at the World Center of Excellence in Archery, in Lausanne, Swiss.

Italians Tatiana Andreoli / Chiara Rebagliati / Lucilla Boari achieved a 5-1 victory over Mexicans Alejandra Valencia / Aída Román / Ana Vázquez, who had had a spectacular performance in previous rounds after beating Sweden with the same score of 6-0 , Great Britain and France.

The first set ended tied with 51 points, but the next two were taken by the Europeans with numbers 53-50 and 54-53 to decree 5-1 as the final score.

For the specialists, the Italians by winning the gold, leave this event brimming with confidence before the last chance of the Olympic team qualification, which is only a month away. The bronze went to Russia.

The third stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup will be in Paris, France, an event that will also act as the final world qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The final qualifying tournament will take place from June 19 to 21 and the third stage of the 2021 Hyundai Archery World Cup from June 22 to 27 in the French capital.
